Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Drafting and editing news items, email updates, event copy and web content
  • Maintaining webpages and preparing routine email communications
  • Uploading content and digital assets, ensuring accessibility standards are met
  • Support communications campaigns and projects by preparing content, gathering assets, scheduling activity and helping with event logistics
  • Contribute ideas to improve content and audience engagement, while helping to coordinate timelines and materials to keep projects moving effectively
  • Understand how communications are performing by monitoring engagement metrics, providing basic reporting and supporting audience research by gathering information, summarising insight and tracking feedback
  • Build effective relationships with colleagues across UCL and respond to routine enquiries, escalating issues where appropriate

Requirements

  • Confident communicator with experience of producing clear, engaging written content for digital or print channels
  • Good understanding of digital communications principles and good practice
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong eye for detail
  • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy
  • Enjoy working collaboratively and have the interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with colleagues at all levels
  • Comfortable following guidance, adapting to changing priorities and delivering work to deadline
  • Experience in communications, marketing or a similar role
  • Experience of updating webpages or working with digital publishing tools
  • Copywriting and research experience, particularly the ability to translate complex information for different audiences
  • Experience of working with external suppliers
