Job Summary

You will own the day to day support for press and communications, handling clipping management, daily coverage reporting, press materials, event support, and asset creation while also managing mail content, copy proofreading, and light administrative tasks to back the team.

  • Manages press clippings and daily press coverage reports
  • Supports press events and creates/updates press kits and digital assets
  • Maintains administrative tasks for the communications team

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Scanning and filing press clippings
  • Writing and compiling daily press coverage reports
  • Responding to press requests and sharing materials with journalists
  • Supporting the press team at media events and openings
  • Creating press kits, including designing image sheets, resizing images, uploading digital resources for journalists
  • Building email content on Mailchimp
  • Creating digital assets using existing design templates
  • Supporting the drafting of press releases and other communications materials
  • Proofing and sense-checking copy
  • Attending PR agency meetings

Requirements

  • Essential role requirements: - Be aged 16 or over. - Have the right to work in the United Kingdom. - Be based in United Kingdom for the duration of the apprenticeship. - Not be enrolled on another government-funded qualification or apprenticeship at the same time. - Ideally, the successful candidate should already hold GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or an equivalent qualification).

  • Desirable skills: - Passionate about pursuing a career in communications in the art sector - Familiar with White Cube exhibitions and artists - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Enjoys collaborating with colleagues, learning new skills and sharing ideas - Strong eye for detail - Proactive and curious, with a willingness to take initiative and anticipate team needs - Well organised and professional - Engaged with contemporary art across a range of platforms, from reviews and features to video and social media - Technical skills: - Microsoft Office Suite - Adobe Photoshop (basic) - Adobe Acrobat (basic) - Mailchimp experience would be useful but is not essential
