Job Summary

Own publicity operations for a children’s books program, coordinating campaigns, events, travel, and submissions to drive coverage and author visibility.

  • Support title campaigns, backlist promotions, and author care to secure coverage.
  • Organize press mailings, events logistics, travel and award submissions to ensure timely storytelling.
  • Track publicity activity and monitor children's publishing trends to inform strategy.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Support the PR Manager with all new title campaigns, backlist promotion and author care
  • Organise Press Mailings
  • Support author and company events, coordinating logistics, sending materials and book stock (some weekend and evening work required)
  • Handle award submissions and associated tasks
  • Organising author travel
  • Assist with key publicity tracking documents
  • Stay in tune with children’s publishing to maintain awareness of the market

Requirements

  • A motivated and proactive self-starter with a can do attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative team player
  • Attention to details and excellent organisational skills
  • Have a genuine passion for children’s books and Barrington Stoke’s mission to offer high quality accessible stories to reluctant and struggling young readers
