Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create a forward-thinking communications strategy that aligns with our organisational goals.
  • Support the management of social media accounts by creating engaging content and monitoring interactions.
  • Produce exciting updates in the form of a regular newsletters to distribute to prisons, stakeholders and funders.
  • Coordinate internal communications to ensure consistent messaging across the project.
  • Keep an eye on industry trends and competitor activities to shape communication strategies.
  • Work with the fundraising team to help organise and promote events, including quiz nights, parties, and community engagement programmes.
  • Maintain media contact lists and assist in building relationships with journalists and people with influence in our industry.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in communications and/or marketing (essential).
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system (advantageous but not essential).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an excellent eye for detail.
  • Excellent initiative to improve our online presence and bring creative ideas to life.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms including LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Proficiency with Canva and Squarespace are essential, other platforms are a bonus.
  • An ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated when working remotely.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Own vehicle (desirable).
