Job Summary

Own and shape community engagement across projects, coordinating diverse residents and turning feedback into accessible communications and policy input.

  • Lead engagement plans and deliver across multiple projects with deadlines, focusing on meaningful resident participation.
  • Collaborate with marginalised groups and operational services to improve outreach and capture feedback for policy or strategy input.
  • Measure engagement impact and distill insights for senior leaders to drive communication approaches and community outcomes.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engagement plans that maximise participation across a range of projects
  • Lead and support a wide range of communications and engagement projects, ensuring delivery to a high standard and within deadlines
  • Work closely with residents and communities, including marginalised groups, to improve engagement and respond to feedback
  • Develop and share clear, accessible communications across multiple channels and audiences
  • Facilitate effective relationships with operational services and contribute to corporate campaigns
  • Support policy and strategy development by ensuring residents have meaningful opportunities to contribute
  • Monitor and evaluate engagement activities, identifying improvements and lessons learned
  • Produce briefings and updates for senior leaders on engagement and communications activity

Requirements

  • Experience of delivering communications plans using project management techniques
  • Experience of supporting and engaging with diverse communities, tailoring communications accordingly
  • Experience of designing and facilitating events such as workshops and engagement sessions
  • Knowledge of a range of communication methods and how to apply them effectively to different audiences
  • Strong ability to build relationships with residents across diverse backgrounds, including delivering difficult messages
  • Ability to communicate effectively using both digital and face-to-face methods
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to develop accessible content and support operational teams with engagement approaches
  • Experience of analysing data and presenting insights in a clear and meaningful way
