Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement and Outreach ● Support the achievement of agreed targets for referrals, service enquiries, community engagement activities and partnership development. ● Build and maintain positive relationships with community groups, voluntary organisations, statutory agencies, health partners and other stakeholders. ● Attend community events, information sessions, networking meetings and outreach activities to represent Age UK Wolverhampton. ● Deliver presentations, talks and awareness-raising sessions to community groups, partner organisations and stakeholders. ● Identify underserved communities and develop targeted engagement activities to improve access to services for older people. ● Support the development and implementation of community engagement plans that increase awareness, accessibility and uptake of Age UK Wolverhampton services. ● Promote Age UK Wolverhampton services and support increased community awareness and engagement. ● To run and support Age UK activity groups such as Daytime Discos etc.
  • Partnership Development ● Develop and maintain effective working relationships with local organisations and stakeholders to increase referral pathways and collaborative opportunities
  • Supporting Service Delivery ● Work closely with the Information and Advice Manager and operational teams to support campaigns, outreach activities and service promotion. ● Assist in identifying individuals who may benefit from multiple services and facilitate appropriate referrals within the organisation. ● Gather feedback from service users, volunteers and partners to support service improvement and accessibility.
  • Grant-Funded Projects ● Support the delivery, promotion and monitoring of grant-funded projects and initiatives. ● Assist in achieving project outcomes, targets and reporting requirements. ● Maintain accurate project records and collect monitoring information as required. ● Contribute to project evaluation activities, including gathering case studies, feedback, outcomes and impact data. ● Support the preparation of reports and evidence.
  • Marketing and Communications ● Develop and distribute promotional materials in digital and printed formats. ● Create engaging content for newsletters, social media platforms, websites and other communication channels. ● Support campaigns that raise awareness of the charity’s services and encourage engagement. ● Use social media platforms as a key resource to raise the charity’s profile, communicate with audiences, increase awareness and promote activities and services. ● Ensure all communications reflect the organisation’s values, brand identity and key messages.
  • Monitoring and Reporting ● Maintain accurate records of outreach activity, referrals, engagement outcomes and partnership contacts. ● Produce regular reports on outreach activities, performance against targets and emerging opportunities. ● Use data and feedback to inform future engagement plans and service development. ● Data and records to demonstrate performance against KPI’s

Requirements

  • Essential ● Experience of community engagement and outreach ● Experience of building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and community organisations. ● Experience of organising or supporting events, presentations and promotional activities. ● Experience of using social media platforms professionally for engagement, communication and awareness-raising. ● Ability to create engaging content for social media, websites, newsletters and promotional materials. ● Strong written and verbal communication skills. ● Good presentation and public speaking skills. ● Ability to gather, record and analyse information accurately. ● Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities. ● Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications and digital communication tools. ● Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. ● Commitment to the values and aims of Age UK Wolverhampton.

Preferred

  • Experience of working within the voluntary, community, health or social care sectors.
  • Experience of supporting grant-funded projects.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting older people.
  • Experience of CRM, Salesforce, or case management systems.
