Owns end-to-end content development and partner communications, shaping audience-focused marketing through toolkits, messaging, and press activities, while coordinating with sector leads and media partners.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develops content toolkits and assets for partners and stakeholders and ensures consistency of messaging across partner communications.
  • Manages distribution of toolkits and asset packs; gathers feedback and insight to inform future packs.
  • Works closely with business sector leads and stakeholders to understand sector and audience priorities, opportunities and challenges, translating these into audience-focused marketing, communications and engagement plans.
  • Supports the senior manager to draft press releases, identify potential stories for media, responds to enquiries and supports proactive PR.
  • Develops content – including copywriting – for a variety of channels and formats, which may include: press releases, briefing notes, blogs, guides, how-tos, myth busters and interviews.
  • Adheres to guidelines and policy for use of agencies and third parties in marketing campaign and communication activity.
  • Provides clear briefs and manages the quality of outputs.
  • Manages day-to-day relationship with media monitoring agency.
  • Works collaboratively across the Erasmus+ marketing function, contributing to shared objectives and supporting delivery across campaigns, events and priority marketing activity as required to meet programme and organisational needs.
  • Works and builds relationships with the British Council Corporate Communications team

Requirements

  • Degree in marketing, communications or a relevant discipline, or demonstrable equivalent professional experience.
  • Essential
  • Experience applying audience insight to marketing or communications activity
  • Experience of PR
  • Experience of delivering audience-focused marketing, communications or engagement activity
  • Experience working with stakeholders and partners
  • Experienced in the design and delivery of marketing plans to support programmes/products
  • Experience of engaging audiences across a variety of channels and platforms
  • Right to Work Requirements: Current right to work in the UK. The British Council is not able to support or sponsor work visa applications.

Preferred

  • Experience in the cultural, youth, sport, training, education or charitable sectors
  • Experience in a global or international organisation
  • Experience in content commissioning
  • Experience planning and delivering events or outreach activity (online and offline)
  • Experience of conceiving and implementing multi-channel digital marketing campaigns, including paid activity
  • Experience of effective campaign evaluation
  • Experience of media monitoring
  • Experience of organic social media
  • Experience working with creative agencies or designers
  • Post graduate or Masters level marketing or business qualification
