Job Summary

Own and drive digital communications for a constituency MP by creating campaigns, producing engaging video/photo content, drafting press materials, and managing media outreach and monitoring across channels.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Creating campaigns, telling stories and driving engagement;
  • Producing video and photo content for social media and website;
  • Drafting press releases, and supporting on engagement with media;
  • Producing e-newsletter and other materials on constituency issues and the MP’s work;
  • Monitoring media coverage and social media channels;
  • Organising constituency visits and assisting with local projects.

Requirements

  • Experience and skills in video (filming, editing and captioning), social media and producing graphics/digital products is essential, including competency with software such as Abode InDesign, Premiere Pro, Canva or similar.
  • The role also requires a flexible attitude and the ability to manage projects and workload.
  • An ideal candidate will be familiar with Alan’s constituency and/or the region, and have knowledge of local issues, but this is not a requirement.
  • Be politically aware, with an interest in current affairs.
  • Understanding and experience with various social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram and YouTube.
  • Full, clean driving licence, and access to own vehicle.
  • Be sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party.
  • Competency with video and photo editing software (such as Abode InDesign, Premiere Pro or similar), desktop publishing and graphic design, and;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a similar role, or experience of working in media, journalism, PR or video editing, is strongly preferred.
