Job Summary

Own the admin and basic marketing services backbone for a municipal communications team, turning mailouts, calendars and reporting into reliable delivery for campaigns and events.

  • Coordinate contact data, content calendars, and asset libraries to keep programs on track.
  • Support multi-channel communications across social, email, and events with data gathering and light analysis.
  • Handle finance basics and stakeholder-facing duties to keep operations running smoothly.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining databases and mailing lists and preparing mailouts.
  • Assisting with distributing communications across social media, email newsletters and other channels.
  • Supporting communication, marketing and events programmes — including attending events when required.
  • Producing content such as photography, video and newsletters
  • Carrying out general administrative tasks including mail handling, filing and photocopying.
  • Processing invoices and supporting basic finance processes.
  • Helping to gather and analyse campaign performance data
  • Coordinating communication systems such as content calendars, project plans and photo libraries.

Requirements

  • English and Maths GCSE/O‑Level/NVQ or equivalent.
  • Strong ICT skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
  • At least one year’s experience within communications, marketing or events.
  • The ability to set up and maintain filing and distribution systems.
  • An understanding of basic financial processes.
  • The ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Confidence to act as a first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive, team‑focused approach, with the ability to work independently when needed.
