Job Summary

Own proactive external communications for Greene King’s Brewing & Brands, shaping media relationships, story opportunities, and executive visibility across local, national, and trade outlets to accelerate brand awareness ahead of the brewery opening.

  • Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with local, national, and trade media, and secure positive coverage aligned with business goals.
  • PR Activations & Storytelling: Proactively source and pitch compelling stories across B&B and wider Greene King channels; coordinate cross-functional activations.
  • Internal Collaboration & Reporting: Collaborate with B&B, Pub Partners, Marketing, and PR; provide regular leadership reporting on team activities.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Enhancing positive relationships with local media ahead of the opening on our new brewery in 2027
  • Proactive outreach across the business to build a bank of positive stories for external use across all media, aligned with the wider business and comms strategies
  • Developing positive relationships across national and trade media, outside of B&B
  • Identifying positive opportunities to accelerate brand awareness and recognition across Greene King and Greene King Brewery
  • Work closely with key stakeholders including those in B&B, Pub Partners, marketing and PR to understand goals and objectives, ensuring we can developing engaging and high performing PR activations across the team
  • Work with the internal comms team to provide a regular drumbeat of content to support wider business objectives
  • Reporting for the senior leadership team across our team efforts
  • Management of our corporate LinkedIn channel, including development of content

Requirements

  • A strong communicator that can adapt for differing audiences
  • Experience of managing and delivering expectations of multiple stakeholders
  • Experience working on a busy and pressurised press office
  • Media management and experience in crisis / issues management
  • Experienced in evaluation / reporting
  • Experience in social media – being able to create content and identify opportunities
  • Show resilience and be able to manage communications in a crisis
  • Strong judgement
  • Autonomous and confident making decisions and advising under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task and to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously
