Job Summary

Own and coordinate communications for Perth and Kinross place-based investment programmes, guiding public engagement and messaging across multiple projects to create a healthy, connected city.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Working alongside project teams you\'ll play a key role in keeping the people of Perth and Kinross feel engaged with and informed about plans for an upcoming series of major investments in leisure, housing, public realm, and essential roads and structures
  • Bringing together a series of projects under an overall vision for Perth which helps show how they contribute to a healthy, connected, thriving city of the future
  • The role is hybrid, although as you\'ll be working on place-based projects it\'s likely that you\'ll be spending quite a bit of time on the ground in Perth visiting sites, organising community engagement events, telling the story of what is happening.
  • Drafting clear public facing content
  • Advising senior colleagues and partners
  • Supporting engagement activity on the ground

Requirements

  • A degree or equivalent in public relations/communications
  • Experience in communications, engagement or public affairs, ideally in a complex or public sector environment
  • Can translate complex or technical information into clear, accessible messages
  • Is confident working across multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Is comfortable with sensitive and sometimes contentious issues
  • Has strong planning, organisational and relationship building skills
  • Brings a calm, pragmatic and solutions focused approach

Preferred

  • Membership of a relevant professional body, including evidence of continuous professional development, is also an advantage.
