Job Summary

Own the marketing intelligence strategy and analytics ecosystem, from data infrastructure and modeling to attribution, experimentation, and executive storytelling, while partnering with Marketing Managers to drive data-informed campaigns.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Marketing Intelligence Strategy: Define and lead ACS's approach to marketing intelligence.
  • Establish the data infrastructure, modeling capabilities, and analytical frameworks needed to understand audience behavior, predict outcomes, and guide investment decisions across the marketing portfolio.
  • Advanced Analytics & Modeling: Develop and maintain predictive models (e.g., propensity to join, renew, or engage; lifetime value; churn risk).
  • Create audience segmentation frameworks that inform proactive marketing strategy.
  • Attribution & Measurement: Design and own multi-touch attribution methodology across paid, owned, and earned channels, providing a clear, defensible view of what is driving acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Apply the attribution methodology to guide where investment will have the greatest impact.
  • Insight Generation & Executive Reporting: Translate complex data into clear, actionable narratives for senior leadership, distinguishing correlation from causation and ensuring recommendations are grounded in sound methodology.
  • Partnership with Marketing Managers: Work in close, day-to-day partnership with the marketing team to ensure campaigns are built on data-informed targeting and segmentation, and that in-flight and post-campaign performance is measured rigorously and fed back into planning.
  • Data Infrastructure & Governance: Partner with IT and marketing operations to ensure CRM/AMS, marketing automation (Marketo), and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI) are integrated, accurate, and structured to support advanced analysis.
  • Establish data quality standards and governance practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in analytics, statistics, data science, or a related quantitative field strongly preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in marketing analytics, business intelligence, or data science, ideally with meaningful exposure to marketing or membership/customer-growth contexts.
  • Demonstrated experience building predictive models (e.g., propensity, lifetime value (LTV), churn) and translating them into marketing action, not solely descriptive/historical reporting.
  • Strong command of multi-touch attribution methodologies and the tradeoffs between attribution models.
  • Advanced proficiency with BI and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Experience with marketing automation and CRM/AMS platforms (e.g., Marketo) and how their data structures support advanced analysis.
  • Experience designing and interpreting A/B and multivariate tests with statistical rigor.
  • Ability to move fluidly between technical depth and executive-level storytelling.
  • Can communicate complex analytical findings to non-technical executive audiences.
  • Stays current on advances in marketing analytics, AI/ML, and measurement practice, and brings new capability into ACS deliberately and responsibly.

Benefits

  • Vacation, personal, and sick hours including 13 paid holidays per year
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Medical—comprehensive coverage through BlueCross BlueShield
  • Dental, Vision, and Prescription drug program
  • 403(b) Matching Program
  • Pension Plan
  • Flexible Spending Medical/Dependent Care
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Short Term/Long Term Disability
  • Life Insurance

American College of Surgeons

The American College of Surgeons has been dedicated to improving the care of the surgical patient and safeguarding standards of care for more than 110 years. With more than 90,000 members worldwide, 2,500 participating hospitals in our quality programs, and 50 million+ patient records tracked through our surgical registries, healing all with skill and trust remains our #1 focus. Membership opportunities are available for anyone in any stage of their surgical career. To be a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, or FACS, signifies that a surgeon’s education, training, professional competencies, qualifications, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation consistent with the high standards established and required by the College. In addition to Fellows in all surgical specialties and in all practice settings, residents, medical students, and surgical team members all have a place within the ACS, the House of SurgeryTM.Our robust quality improvement and surgical education programs can lead to greater access for patients, fewer complications, lower cost of care, and better outcomes. Our quality accreditation and verification programs, products, guidelines, and tools improve quality in trauma, cancer, breast disease, bariatrics, children's surgery, geriatric surgery, and overall surgical care.
