Job Description

Responsibilities

45% - Undergraduate degree program communications: Develop and implement strategic, digital-first communications to promote undergraduate degree programs. • Create a variety of content, including student stories and profiles, press releases, social media content, promotional materials, and website copy. • Lead the planning, content development, production, editing, and distribution of the college’s weekly student newsletter, The Ourso Experience, with support from graduate assistants.
20% - Partner with the Office of Business Student Success to support communications related to student success, engagement, and career readiness initiatives.
15% - Work with OCME director to design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals, develop social content editorial calendar, monitor, and report on engagement analytics.
10%- Develop communications and marketing materials for assigned units, including the Center for Internal Auditing & Cybersecurity Risk Management. This could include press releases, marketing collateral, mass emails, speeches, long-form editorial content, and social media content.
5%- Other: Assist with content creation to support special initiatives as requested by the LSU Division of Marketing and Communications, the LSU Foundation, and other entities. • Performs other duties and assigned and assists with other special projects as assigned by the director.

Requirements

Education Level: Bachelor’s
Years of Experience: Three or more years of professional work experience in one or more of the below experience areas.
Specific Experience: Marketing communications, social media management, digital content creation, advertising, project management, journalism, or a closely related area.
Degree Substitute: LSU values skills, experience, and expertise. Candidates who have relevant experience in key job responsibilities are encouraged to apply-a degree is not required as long as the candidate meets the required years of experience specified in the job description.
