Job Description
We're looking for a Senior UI Designer to lead
visual design within a significant Clubcard product area with depth and
authority. You set the UI quality bar for your team, defining what great looks
like in terms of craft, system coherence, and interaction quality, and holding
that standard consistently across everything that ships. You're hands-on, directly
shaping the visual experience while raising the craft of the designers around
you. You have a strongly developed point of view, a precise eye for quality,
and the ability to articulate both persuasively in cross-functional
conversations. Beyond your immediate product area, you contribute actively to
the broader design community, through critique, system thinking, and consistently
modelling what excellent UI design looks like.
- Designing high‑quality UI for Clubcard experiences
across digital channels. - Shaping how Clubcard is expressed visually across
other journeys including online and in-store Shopping. Ensuring UI consistency
and clarity. - Translating complex loyalty propositions into clean,
scalable, system‑ready interface designs. - Applying strong interaction design fundamentals,
ensuring every component, state and flow is coherent. - Using the Digital Design System effectively, knowing
when to applying existing patterns and when to extend or evolve components to
support new Clubcard needs. - Actively exploring the design space, iterating on
pattern variations and visual directions. - Producing developer‑ready design files, prototypes
and documentation with clarity and precision - Working closely with UX Designers, Researchers,
Product Managers and Engineers to bring UI excellence into the full product
lifecycle. - Sharing work early, giving constructive feedback to
others and help raise UI quality across the team. - Communicating design decisions clearly and
confidently to a wide variety of partners.
- A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional UI craft. Clean layouts, hierarchy, spacing, typography, colour and polished interaction design.
- Deep understanding of UI fundamentals and a purist mindset. Someone who cares deeply about visual quality, consistency and detail.
- Expertise with Digital Design Systems. Confident in using them and helping shape their evolution.
- Experience designing for large scale, customer facing digital products with complex, interconnected journeys.
- Ability to simplify complex product needs into clear, elegant interface patterns that scale across journeys and scenarios.
- Strong grasp of accessibility principles and ability to design UI that meets WCAG 2.1 AA.
- Clear, structured communication skills. Able to explain visual decisions and influence stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset: works closely with UX, Product, Engineering and Research while staying firmly anchored in UI craft.
- Someone proactive, curious and self driven who brings options, challenges unclear briefs, and pushes for higher quality.
- A team player who thrives in an open design culture: shares work early, embraces feedback, and offers constructive critique to elevate the team.
- High proficiency in Figma, with prototyping skills.
