Job Summary

Own external and internal communications with a hands-on emphasis on editorial governance, cross‑functional collaboration, and strategic messaging to strengthen the firm’s brand and audience engagement.

  • Content oversight and editorial workflow management across external communications and internal updates.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration to define priority messages and deliver cohesive campaigns across media (written materials, videos, intranet, podcasts).
  • Training and governance to ensure lawyers and business services teams produce compelling, compliant content and messaging.

Job Description

Own external and internal communications with a hands-on approach to content review, governance, and cross‑functional collaboration to shape firm-wide messaging and brand effectiveness.

  • Responsibilities: Oversees, and takes a hands-on role in reviewing external content, including, announcements, biographies, firm-produced legal updates and white papers, and other firm-authored content.
  • Responsibilities: Works with the Firm’s global editorial team to review workflow and processes.
  • Responsibilities: Supports strategic external marketing communications efforts that support the Firm’s brand.

Note: The remaining responsibilities continue to describe governance, training, and collaboration across internal stakeholders and content production workflows.

  • Responsibilities: Ensures compliance with Firm risk and governance procedures, including review and engagement by legal, risk, and brand stakeholders
  • Responsibilities: Provides regular insights and training to lawyers to help them make their content more compelling and effective.
  • Responsibilities: Collaborates with Firm leadership and other departments to define and articulate the priority messages for internal communications campaigns.
  • Responsibilities: Develops internal communications campaigns across all relevant media to communicate the priority messages of the Firm – including written materials, cascading messages through practices groups, videos, podcasts, intranet posts, and other relevant media.
  • Responsibilities: Supervises the efforts of the Internal Communications Specialist to support fulfillment of all internal communications projects.
  • Responsibilities: Advises business services departments on development of effective communication strategies to increase engagement and understanding of firm-wide initiatives.
  • Responsibilities: Manages content on the Firm’s intranet home page.
  • Responsibilities: Maintains internal messages database.
  • Responsibilities: Provides input on work-product of graphic designers and collaborates with the designers’ external manager to ensure that designers understand assigned tasks and deliver high-quality graphics and presentations.
  • Responsibilities: Serves as writer and production editor for the Weekly Update
  • Responsibilities: Reviews and advises other departments and offices on their various internal newsletters and updates describing or promoting Firm initiatives or disseminating firm news.
  • Responsibilities: Handles other internal communications tasks, as required.
  • Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field. A combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the role.
  • Requirements: At least 6 years of experience in marketing communications, journalism or other communications roles
  • Requirements: Experience writing and editing high-quality, content-driven communications materials.
  • Requirements: Strong working knowledge of all aspects of writing and editorial, including familiarity with editorial style manuals.
  • Requirements: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Requirements: SharePoint (preferred)
  • Requirements: Adobe Creative Suite (preferred)
  • Requirements: Basic understanding of HTML (preferred)
