Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver practical communications and engagement plans for contaminated land management, sustainability, circular economy and net zero projects, including initiatives under the NSW Waste and Circular Infrastructure Plan
  • turn complex technical and scientific information into clear, accessible content that makes sense to different audiences
  • prepare and review a range of communications, including media releases, briefing notes, Ministerial responses, Q&As, newsletters, website content and social media
  • build strong relationships with communities and stakeholders, identifying sensitive issues early and helping manage potential social and reputational risks
  • help embed social sustainability into environmental projects by identifying opportunities to create positive social outcomes and developing practical tools, guidelines, checklists and templates
  • track the social impact of projects, looking at areas such as community wellbeing, resilience, social cohesion, sense of place and trust
  • support communications across EMG, including sustainability newsletters and Environmental Action Network case studies
  • help technical and environmental specialists build their confidence and capability when engaging with communities and other public-facing stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Stakeholder Engagement, Social Science, or a related discipline.
  • A current and valid NSW drivers full license
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident or hold a valid Australian working Visa for the duration of the appointment.
  • Willing to travel across NSW from time to time to support the delivery of a diverse range of exciting and challenging projects.
