Job Description
2-3 month internship (Remote, must be UK-based)
We're a small but ambitious startup on a mission to reinvent language learning through AI. Our flagship product is a mobile app designed to help intermediate and advanced learners improve their English with cutting-edge tech.
We're looking for a Product Intern to join us on a 2-3 month, paid internship (full-time, remote, UK-based). This is a rare chance to own a product end to end — from a blank page to something real people use — in a fast-paced startup.
You'll spend the internship designing, building and shipping viral English-learning tests: interactive web experiences that hook a user, deliver a result worth sharing, and pull their friends in. Modern AI tools mean a single sharp person can now take an idea from concept to a working product in days. We want someone who treats that as a superpower.
Please read the job specification carefully prior to applying.
What you'll do
- Own products end to end. Generate the idea, design the experience, build the MVP, ship it, and watch how real users respond - then iterate.
- Build working web experiences, not just mockups. You'll prototype fast and get things in front of users quickly.
- Obsess over the share moment. The whole point is virality — the test has to produce something people want to share. You'll invent both the share artifact and, where it helps, entirely new test formats.
- Use AI tools as leverage. We expect you to move fast by pairing your judgement with AI for code, copy, design and research.
- Learn from live data. Watch how users behave, figure out what drives sharing, kill what doesn't, double down on what does.
- Work closely with the founding team to pressure-test ideas and refine direction.
Essential skills
- You ship. You've built and launched things — side projects, small web apps, tools, games. You can take an idea to a working MVP without waiting for permission or a team.
- Comfortable with code + AI tools. You don't need to be a senior engineer, but you can build a functional web app (HTML/JS/React or similar) and use AI tools to go faster.
- Strong product instinct. You can tell the difference between a clever idea and a shareable one, and you know why some things spread and most don't.
- Design sense. You can make something look and feel good enough that people trust it and want to share it — Figma, Claude Design, or straight in code.
- A builder's bias to action. You'd rather ship something rough and learn than plan something perfect and stall.
Desirable skills
- Experience building viral or social mechanics (anything that got shared, went semi-viral, or grew without ads).
- Familiarity with AI build tools (Claude, Cursor, Codex, etc.) and design tools (Figma, Canva).
- Interest in edtech, language learning, and the psychology of why people share things online.
- An understanding that most experiments won't work — the goal is to test, learn and scale the winners.
- Experience in game dev or product hacking more broadly
What we offer
- Duration: 2 or 3 months (fixed term)
- Hours: Full-time
- Location: Remote (UK only)
- Compensation: £12.71 per hour
- Start Date: Flexible
What you'll gain
- The chance to own real products from idea to launch — rare for an internship
- Hands-on experience shipping and testing live in a real startup
- A portfolio of products you actually built and shipped, with real usage behind them
- Direct mentorship from the founding team
Hiring process
Note: you must have valid right-to-work status in the UK to qualify for this position.
Email your CV and a short note (your availability, what you've built, and why this role) to: product-jobs@glite.ai
Please include links to anything you've made — side projects, web apps, games, prototypes. We care far more about what you've shipped than where you studied.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a short practical task: sketching a viral English test from sign-up through to the share moment. We'll give you full details at that stage.
Glite is an EdTech company focused on using technologies to provide the best learning experience in general and language learning in particular. We make learning numerically proven more effective and bring it to more people. Our main product is a mobile application teaching English.
