Job Summary

Own the multi-channel PR narrative, shaping proactive and reactive stories that drive Bright Horizons brand coverage from local to national press.

  • Own media outreach and story framework to secure coverage and advance the brand narrative across trade, local and national outlets.
  • Coordinate with Content, Communications, Marketing and Nursery operations to source timely, engaging releases and show the USPs of our nurseries.
  • Build and report on PR impact with monthly performance updates to guide strategy and demonstrate value.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The role of the PR Executive is to support with the execution of the company’s PR strategy guided by the PR Manager.
  • They will be responsible for creating engaging stories for trade, sector, local and national press utilising multimedia platforms to showcase the activities and drive the brand narrative Bright Horizons in line with the company’s PR strategy.
  • This will cover both proactive and reactive messaging and require close co-ordination with the Content and Communications, Marketing and Social Media teams as well as nursery operations and other support functions to create exciting and engaging content showcasing the USPs within our nurseries.
  • Building a network of contacts and collaborators throughout the nursery portfolio.
  • Creation and distribution of engaging stories, press releases and social media posts.
  • Pro-actively researching media opportunities to source newsjacking opportunities that align with key messaging.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with journalists to secure coverage across local and trade media titles and online platforms e.g. community.
  • Producing monthly reports detailing the success and impact of PR activity
  • Ensuring all content is delivered in the appropriate brand tone of voice.
  • Researching and collating information/material from colleagues to produce relevant, timely releases.
  • The ability to understand the type of stories that will appeal to journalists and creating a framework for producing engaging content to secure maximum coverage.

Requirements

  • Excellent written communication and engaging storyteller as evidenced by portfolio of work.
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders
  • Highly organised, a real team player with a go-getting attitude who enjoys getting out and about.
  • Capable of working under pressure, with multiple and flexible deadlines
  • Previous experience of communicating directly and confidently with journalists
  • Relevant degree/qualification or at least two years’ experience in a similar role
  • Able to use data, AI and numerical detail effectively to inform strategy, measure impact and drive quality – previous use of Gaggle, Meltwater, Sprinklr desirable.
  • Flexible to travel to attend meetings and to visit our nurseries.
