Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Account management and client leadership (30%) – Act as a day-to-day contact for allocated clients, leading meetings, managing expectations and providing proactive, confident and commercially focused recommendations and insights. Maintain strong client relationships, anticipate challenges and ensure all agreed activity is delivered effectively. Manage your PR activity across the agency from briefing through to delivery, coordinating deadlines, budgets, resources and approvals.
  • Media relations and content delivery (30%) – Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, influencers and industry contacts. Oversee, develop and distribute press releases, features, thought-leadership content, media pitches and reactive commentary, ensuring consistently high-quality written output and coverage generation.
  • Copywriting and content creation (15%) – Research, write, edit and proofread high-quality content across a range of formats, including award entries, case studies, website copy, blogs, newsletters, campaign messaging, social copy and client communications. Adapt writing style, structure and messaging to suit different audiences, platforms, objectives and brand tones of voice. Ensure all copy is accurate, engaging, persuasive and delivered to a consistently high standard.
  • PR strategy and campaign development (15%) – Develop insight-led PR strategies and creative campaign concepts that align with clients’ commercial, marketing and communications objectives. Ensure activity is relevant, measurable and tailored to each client’s audiences and target media. Monitor campaign performance, evaluate results against agreed KPIs and use reporting insights to continually improve activity and demonstrate the commercial value of PR.
  • Digital PR visibility (10%) – Apply an understanding of SEO and GEO best practice to PR and content activity. Identify opportunities to build clients’ authority, relevance and visibility through credible media coverage, authoritative backlinks, consistent messaging, expert commentary and well-structured content. Collaborate with digital and SEO specialists to ensure PR activity supports keyword priorities, search demand, AI citations and wider organic performance.

Requirements

  • Excellent written English: publication-standard copywriting and editing across press releases, features, thought leadership and client comms, with the ability to flex tone and structure to different audiences and brands.
  • Strong verbal communication: confident leading client meetings, presenting pitches and giving constructive feedback to junior team members.
  • PR expertise: solid working knowledge of PR strategy, media relations and coverage generation, with established or fast-building relationships across relevant journalists, editors and influencers.
  • Commercial awareness: spots opportunities to grow accounts and strengthen Punch's PR offering, and can articulate the commercial value of PR against agreed KPIs.
  • Digital PR literacy: a working understanding of SEO and GEO, web and coverage metrics, and how PR activity supports search visibility and AI citations.
  • Adaptability: stays across a fast-moving media and platform landscape and adjusts approach and processes to get the best results.
  • Resource management: manages multiple accounts, budgets and deadlines efficiently under pressure without dropping quality.
