Job Summary

Own the social channel output for a government-facing audience and translate policy and security updates into engaging, accessible content that travels across multiple partners and regions.

  • Social channel ownership: drive day-to-day management and ensure impactful output across government and international counterparts.
  • Content engine: produce multimedia posts (copy, graphics, video) that connects with an audience and captures timely stories.
  • Analytics and consultancy: monitor channel performance and KPIs, identify improvements, and report regularly on impact.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of our social media channels
  • Creating engaging and visually appealing, original multimedia content across copy, graphics and video
  • Bring fresh ideas to life and develop content that captures and connects with our audience
  • Collaborate with teams across the organisation, government and international counterparts to ensure effective social media output that has real impact
  • Keep up to date with industry best practice, providing consultancy and advice on social media use and content
  • Using reporting tools, analyse and evaluate how our channels are performing, identify areas of improvement, and provide regular reporting on social media KPIs and achievements

Requirements

  • prior experience working in social media or content creation
  • effective decision-making and collaboration skills, working with different stakeholders to make recommendations driven by insight and to deliver successful outcomes
  • able to translate complicated, technical detail into engaging copy
  • superb attention to detail and be cool and calm under pressure
  • strong interest in the news agenda of the day and the ability to spot stories, emerging issues and trends of interest to the organisation
  • organised, and able to manage a variety of different projects to tight deadlines
  • value working as part of a collaborative, high-performing team that delivers exceptional results
  • comfortable engaging with senior leadership and collaborating across teams and with government and international counterparts
  • experience with social media metrics and producing content that aligns with organisational objectives

Nice to have

  • Having worked in journalism, public relations or government communications would certainly be advantageous.
