Job Description

Responsibilities

Identify weekly content topics for long-form and short-form video, grounded in analytics and trend research.
Partner with artists to ideate, create, and refine thumbnails that drive click-through rate.
Write and manage video metadata — titles, descriptions, and tags — optimized for search and discovery.
Own channel uploads and the publishing schedule.
Analyze video performance in YouTube Analytics and translate the data into clear, actionable feedback for the team.
Research and identify creators, brands, and sponsors for collaborations.
Pitch Planet A to prospective partners and serve as the primary point of contact for external collaborators and sponsors.
Create weekly team-wide email updates with data, analysis and qualitative commentary on trendlines, risks, opportunities, threats, and weaknesses.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in digital content strategy.
A deep understanding of YouTube and the larger creator economy.
Fluency in YouTube Analytics and content optimization, you know your AVD from your CTR and what to do when either dips.
Proficiency with third party analytics tools like ViewStats or 1of10.
A track record of translating trends into content strategies that actually ship.
Hands-on experience directing thumbnail ideation and execution.
Strong relationship-building skills with external partners and stakeholders, including experience pitching to outside parties.

Preferred

Experience growing small or early-stage YouTube channels.
Passion for the environment and science communication.
