Salary: £62,109 (National) or £66,229 Croydon
Skills allowance of up to £18,291, pending assessment

🚀 Job summary 🚀
The Home Office processes on average 10 million emails per week. This role is a technical specialist role – leading and acting as the SME for messaging and hygiene services with additional requirements for implementing and maintaining compliance in line with Government standards utilising the M365 Purview suite. You will also be responsible for line management of infrastructure engineers.
A Lead Infrastructure Engineer assumes responsibility for managing third party provision of infrastructure services and the provision of expertise to deliver architectural solutions for infrastructure services throughout the service lifecycle.
You will oversee programmes and projects and work with Technical Architects to translate the architectural designs into operations and support technical architects in operationalising the designs.
You will lead and direct infrastructure teams in building, managing, transitioning, supporting and maintaining solutions according to departmental policy and ensure a feedback loop exists with service support to ensure continuous improvement. You are responsible for overall management activities such as workforce planning, budgeting, technology roadmaps, projects and tasks.

- Microsoft 365 platform and associated services, e.g. Graph.

- AI: Copilot Studio, Azure ML Studio, Python, Github Copilot.
- Data services – including MS Fabric.
⭐ Essential Skills ⭐
- Managing and delivering enterprise email services within time, cost and quality targets. Demonstrable experience of configuration/implementation and management of Exchange on-line and on premises. (ITOP)
- Mail Hygiene – Experience of configuration, management, and customisation of mail hygiene solutions within an enterprise. (HSIN)
- Advising on future technology changes and innovations and defining best practice for network improvements and information security with a specific focus on email services. (DESN)
- Experience or knowledge of mail routing; including relay, connectors, transport, security, and hybrid. (TEST)
- Leading the technology team to adhere to good engineering principles from architecture through to development. (USUP)
- Providing leadership to the teams responsible for delivery, while building strong partnerships with diverse teams across multiple locations and technologies, including compliance and cyber to support the integrity of our email services. (OFCL)
