About Us
PA Media is the UK and Ireland’s trusted national news agency, delivering 24/7 multimedia journalism and content to newsrooms, publishers and platforms around the world.
Our Video team plays a vital role in that mission, providing reliable live video services and broadcast solutions to customers, partners and audiences across the globe. As demand for live and streamed content continues to grow, we are investing in our technical capabilities to support the next generation of broadcast services.
About The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for technology, networking and broadcast systems who is looking to develop their career in a fast-paced media environment. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, supporting the systems, infrastructure and connectivity that underpin PA's live video services.

The role is based in our Paddington office, where the expectation is that you'll be present approximately three days per week, alongside occasional attendance at client sites and editorial events as required.
The minimum salary for the job level in which this role sits is £33,000, and the job family is Associate Video Producer. We are happy to discuss this detail further during the recruitment process.
What You'll Be Trusted With
  • Supporting the operation and reliability of PA's broadcast and video streaming systems
  • Diagnosing and resolving faults across broadcast, network and connectivity infrastructure
  • Assisting with the support of client sites and broadcast services
  • Helping ensure reliable video connectivity at editorial and live events
  • Working closely with colleagues across editorial, technical and commercial teams
  • Building positive relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Supporting the continued development and expansion of PA's live video services
  • Learning and developing expertise across a range of broadcast technologies, platforms and workflows.
What You'll Need
  • A genuine interest in technology and a desire to build a career in broadcast engineering
  • An understanding of IT networking fundamentals, including LANs, WANs, VPNs and internet connectivity
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think logically under pressure
  • A proactive and reliable approach to work, with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a willingness to learn new systems and technologies while working effectively as part of a team.
  • The confidence to communicate with technical suppliers, manufacturers and partners
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in Engineering, IT, Networking or a related technical discipline.
It would be beneficial if you also have
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems
  • An understanding of audio-visual technology, including cameras, sound and vision systems
  • Exposure to video encoding, streaming or broadcast workflows
  • Experience of cloud platforms such as AWS or virtualisation technologies such as VMware
  • Experience working in a technical support, networking or engineering environment.
What We Offer
  • 25 days' holiday (plus holiday purchase scheme)

  • Annual volunteering day
  • Company pension scheme (4% employer contributions)
  • Life assurance (4x salary)
  • Access to fitness and wellbeing benefits
  • Hybrid working
  • The opportunity to join a newly created role and help shape the future of PA's live video engineering capability.
