Hearst UK operates an in office policy with flexible Friday's. Our office is based at House of Hearst, 30 Panton Street, St James's, London, SW1Y 4AJ, where teams collaborate in person and connect across brands and functions.
Salary - £43,000-£48,000 - Salary is dependent on experience and will be assessed in line with the candidate’s skills, knowledge, and relevant expertise.
The Role…
As the Homes Content Editor (Licensing) You will create best in class, highly engaging homes and interiors content across digital and social channels for two market-leading homes titles, while leading and delivering the content strategy for Hearst’s licensing partnerships.
Our homes titles work with leading home retailers to create licensed product collections. A key part of this role is bringing those collections to life through compelling, editorially led content, while also delivering against commercial objectives.
You will work closely with the licensing team to understand partner relationships, market and consumer nuances, collection launches, product timelines and business priorities, translating these into creative multi-channel content plans.
Alongside licensing activity, you will contribute to the wider editorial output of the brands, pitching and producing homes and interiors content designed to grow reach, engagement and audiences.
This role would suit a content marketer or commercially minded editor with excellent writing skills and a strong understanding of the homes and interiors sector.
Main duties
Content Strategy & Planning
- Support in delivering the content strategy for licensing partnerships, developing multi-channel campaigns around collection launches, key trading moments and partner priorities.
- Work closely with editorial teams to ensure a blended content approach that maintains editorial quality and brand integrity while delivering on commercial KPIs.
- Proactively identify opportunities to extend licensing activity
- Pitch and write best-in-class homes and interiors content for digital platforms, balancing wider editorial priorities with licensing activity.
- Identify strong editorial angles that naturally integrate licensed products into inspirational, useful and audience-first content.
- Produce and schedule social content on a weekly basis, working closely with the Multiplatform Editor(s) and central social team to optimise opportunities for growth and engagement.
- Use analytics tools to track monthly performance, interpret data and inform content strategy decisions
- Present campaign results, insights and learnings to internal teams and external partners.
- Alongside the Style & Interiors Director, act as a key content contact for the licensing team, developing a strong understanding of individual partners, collections, launch plans, commercial priorities and the respective markets that they operate in.
- Build strong working relationships with licensing partners
- Work with the wider commercial team alongside the Style & Interiors Director to identify any new opportunities with brands
- Manage multiple campaigns and stakeholders simultaneously, ensuring content is delivered accurately and to deadline.
- Support the planning and execution of photoshoots, fairs, launches and events where required, including capturing and editing behind-the-scenes video content.
- Support in producing consumer and interiors trend reports to inform licensing conversations and wider commercial partnerships.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail and editorial judgement
- Experience creating compelling, audience-first digital content, ideally in a commercial or retail environment
- An understanding of the homes and interiors landscape, including key retailers, brands and consumer trends
- A good understanding of SEO, Google Discover and digital publishing best practice
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms and content formats, with a clear understanding of what drives engagement and confident in shooting and editing short-form video content
- Highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, competing priorities and deadlines across different teams
