Job Description

171 senior banking leaders spoke at our London summit this year. In November we produce the Banking Transformation Summit in Charlotte, North Carolina for the third time. Two more events launch in 2027.

We're hiring a Growth Director to work alongside the founder on the relationships that build our events. Speakers. Partners. The senior banking delegates we want in the room.

What this actually is

This is a phone-first role for someone who lives for the conversation. You'll be on calls every day with senior banking executives, potential speakers, partners and the senior delegates we want at our events. You'll open doors. You'll build momentum. You'll get the right people interested and bring them into the room.

You'll be frontline for the business. The relationships you build won't just serve one event. They'll be leveraged across our portfolio, across markets, and across future years. They'll also be one of our most valuable sources of insight, helping us develop our products and services, shape our content, and sharpen how we go to market.

You'll feed that intelligence back into our marketing and sales teams. You'll help us spot what's coming, what's shifting and what matters next in banking. That feedback loop is central to the role, not a side benefit.

You won't be writing agendas. You won't be doing volume delegate sales. You'll be the credible voice on the phone alongside the founder, working through warm and cold conversations with senior people across banking and the partner ecosystem.

What you'll do

  • Speak to senior banking executives daily about speaking, partnering and attending
  • Open and progress conversations with target speakers, partners and senior delegates
  • Work outbound across phone, LinkedIn and email to get senior-level conversations started
  • Move target contacts from first call through to commitment
  • Build and maintain relationships with our most important contacts year-round, with an eye on how they compound across future events
  • Feed insight from the industry back into our marketing and sales teams to sharpen product, content and go-to-market
  • Work with the founder on target lists, talking points and the angle for each conversation
  • Travel to our events in London, Charlotte and beyond

What we need

Experience in B2B events, conferences, media or financial services. Whether you've come up through business development, partnerships, speaker acquisition, or audience growth, what matters is that you've been the person on the phone with senior people.

The gift of the gab. You're a natural on the phone. You think out loud, build rapport fast, and you'd rather pick up the phone than send another email.

Presentable, professional and credible. You can walk into any room or onto any call and hold your own with senior people. You sound like someone who belongs there.

Curiosity about banking and where it's going. You don't need to be a domain expert. You need to be interested enough to learn fast, and sharp enough to spot the signals worth bringing back to the team.

You might be coming from

  • A business development or partnerships role at an events, media or conference business
  • A senior speaker acquisition role where the conversations matter more than the volume
  • An audience growth or engagement role at a credible B2B events business
  • A BD role in financial services, fintech or professional services where you've built relationships with senior banking contacts

What we don't need

Someone who only sends emails. Someone who needs a script. Someone who's uncomfortable picking up the phone to a Group CIO. Someone who wants to run a team rather than do the work.

Why this role

You'll work alongside the founder, frontline for the business, with real influence over how we build our events and where we take the business next. The relationships you build don't just fill the room. They shape what the room is about, they compound across future events, and they feed the rest of the business with the intelligence that keeps us ahead. Small, sharp team. International scope from day one.

This is a senior individual contributor role with room to grow into broader scope as we expand.
