The other 99% submit and hope. You're about to do something different.
Platform: PC / Steam
Engine: Unity
Availability: Full-time or Part-time, Remote
Quick Note About Compensation
This role works on a revenue-share basis rather than a monthly salary.
We are a new, small independent studio developing our first PC games for the Steam platform, and we prefer a simple, transparent model:
You contribute to the project →
Once the game launches →
You receive your agreed share of the revenue.
This is not a co-founder offer and not a large equity stake. It is a straightforward, honest collaboration for someone who wants to help build and grow an indie game studio from the ground up.
If that sounds reasonable, keep reading.
About Us
We are TINK TEAM LTD, a UK-based technology company and a newly formed independent game development studio.
Our team is currently building multiple PC games for the Steam platform, focusing on high-quality 3D gameplay, cinematic presentation, and modern Unity workflows.
Who We Are
Are you ready to help build the community behind an ambitious indie game studio?
We are developing premium PC games for Steam across different genres, including RPG, action, and tabletop-inspired experiences. Our current marketing budget is very limited, but our games are solid, our work ethic is serious, and our vision is big.
We are looking for a passionate Community Manager to help us build hype, grow our audience, increase Steam wishlists, and create a real player community around our games before launch.
This is a great opportunity for someone who understands gaming culture, indie communities, Discord, Steam, Reddit, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and how to communicate with players in a natural, authentic way.
About the Role
As our Community Manager, you will be responsible for helping us build and manage the public-facing community around our upcoming PC / Steam games.
You will work closely with the development and production team to turn gameplay progress, screenshots, dev updates, short clips, funny bugs, behind-the-scenes moments, and new features into community-friendly content.
Your goal is simple:
Help players discover our games.
Help them care about our games.
Help them wishlist, follow, join, comment, share, and stay connected.
Responsibilities
You will help with:
Managing and growing our Discord community
Creating weekly community posts, questions, polls, and discussion topics
Writing player-friendly updates and short devlog-style posts
Sharing gameplay clips, screenshots, GIFs, and development updates
Supporting Steam wishlist growth campaigns
Helping manage Steam community posts and announcements
Engaging with relevant indie game communities in a natural, non-spammy way
Supporting Reddit posts and discussions where appropriate
Helping create ideas for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and X/Twitter content
Tracking player comments, feedback, and community sentiment
Identifying useful player questions, reactions, and feedback for the development team
Helping us build a consistent community voice for the studio
Supporting micro-influencer and streamer outreach when needed
Requirements
We are looking for someone with:
Strong written English
Good understanding of PC / Steam gaming culture
Experience with Discord community management
Good understanding of Reddit, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram, X/Twitter, or similar platforms
Ability to write in a natural, fun, player-friendly tone
Interest in indie games and game development
Good communication and organization skills
Ability to work independently in a remote team
A proactive mindset and willingness to help build something from an early stage
Nice to Have
These are not required, but would be a strong plus:
Previous experience managing a game community
Experience helping grow Steam wishlists
Experience with Steam community hubs or Steam store pages
Basic short-form video editing skills using CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools
Experience with influencer, YouTuber, or Twitch streamer outreach
Basic visual design skills for social media posts or thumbnails
Knowledge of indie game marketing
Understanding of gaming memes, trends, and community language
Time Commitment
We are open to both part-time and full-time collaboration.
Expected commitment can range from approximately 10–25 hours per week, depending on availability, experience, and the responsibilities agreed with the team.
Who This Role Is For
This role is ideal for someone who:
Loves indie games
Understands online gaming communities
Knows how to talk to players without sounding corporate
Enjoys Discord, Steam, Reddit, memes, short-form content, and community building
Wants to be part of an early-stage indie studio
