Job Description

Responsibilities

  • As a Digital and Social Media Communications Officer, you will manage our digital channels and create engaging content that supports our communications priorities.
  • Overseeing our website and social media channels, you will plan, create and schedule organic and paid content while ensuring communications are accurate, accessible and consistent with our style and brand.
  • Working with colleagues, members and external agencies, you will provide guidance on digital communications and help deliver tactical communications plans that meet audience needs and wider strategic priorities.
  • Create and optimise images, GIFs and videos for digital channels
  • Write blogs, social posts and other digital copy
  • Manage website updates, campaign targeting and social media budgets
  • Monitor online conversations and highlight relevant themes and concerns
  • Support social media activity during crisis communications
  • Liaise with our retained web development agency

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a digital communications role
  • Demonstrable copywriting skills in creating and curating compelling content for social platforms, with high levels of accuracy
  • Sound knowledge of social media platforms and analytics tools, including LinkedIn
  • Competency and skills in graphic design
  • A good understanding of current trends in social and community communications, digital marketing and content production
  • The ability to think creatively and adapt tone of voice and content type for different audiences and purposes
  • An understanding of communications principles, branding and online corporate identity
  • Strong project and time management skills
