Responsibilities

• Creating engaging content for the school’s social media channels and website
• Taking photographs and short-form video at school events, activities, trips and sporting fixtures
• Capturing day-to-day moments that bring school life to life
• Writing short news stories, captions and features
• Helping to plan and schedule social media content
• Supporting the creation of digital and promotional materials
• Identifying opportunities to celebrate pupil achievements and school successes
• Working with staff and pupils to gather stories, photographs and content
• Ensuring content reflects the values and character of Bournemouth Collegiate School
• For the right candidate, there is also the exciting possibility of combining the Content Assistant role with boarding duties. This could provide an opportunity to become more deeply involved in the life of the school, working with and supporting our boarding community alongside your content and communications responsibilities.

Requirements

• Creative, enthusiastic and full of ideas
• Confident using social media and familiar with current digital content trends
• A good photographer with an eye for an engaging image
• Comfortable creating and editing short-form video
• A confident writer with excellent attention to detail
• Organised, reliable and able to work independently
• Friendly and confident when working with pupils, staff and the wider school community
• Interested in education and keen to become part of school life

Preferred

• Previous experience in content creation, communications, marketing, photography or social media would be an advantage, but enthusiasm, creativity and the ability to spot a good story are equally important.
