Job Summary

Own the end-to-end storytelling pipeline from families to campaigns, producing publish-ready content across channels and building a sustainable flow of stories, quotes, images and video for fundraising and communications.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead on sourcing and developing stories from families, supporters, staff and stakeholders, creating publish-ready content across PR, web, email, social media, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Interview families and supporters, writing compelling stories and press releases, supporting campaign content.
  • Help develop digital-first storytelling approaches, and build a strong pipeline of stories, quotes, images and video content for use across the organisation.
  • Work closely with the PR Manager and Income Generation and Marketing Directorate to support regional media activity, fundraising campaigns and digital communications.
  • Write high-quality, compassionate and impactful content, adapting writing style across multiple channels and audiences.
  • Manage multiple priorities and proactively drive a pipeline of stories across a range of projects and campaigns.
  • Identify new story angles, develop alternative content routes, and diversify voices and experiences represented across communications.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in communications, public relations or journalism.
  • Experience within a hospice or healthcare setting is welcome, but not essential.
  • Ability to write high-quality, compassionate and impactful content.
  • Excellent writing skills, strong interviewing ability.
  • Enjoys working independently, spotting opportunities and creating high-quality content that connects emotionally with audiences.
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to balance priorities, and maintain accurate records and media consents.
  • Ability to write across multiple channels and audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and proactively drive a pipeline of stories across projects and campaigns.

Preferred

  • Experience within a hospice or healthcare setting is welcome, but not essential.
