About Lenoir-Rhyne University
LR's 100-acre campus is located in Hickory, North Carolina, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We're an hour from the mountains and about four hours from the beach.Lenoir-Rhyne is a private, coeducational university affiliated with the N.C. Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and open to students from all religious backgrounds. We enroll about 1850 students in the liberal arts, sciences, and pre-professional programs. Our sports teams compete in Division II of the NCAA and in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC).
