Job Summary

Own the school wide marketing and communications program by building strong faculty, staff and media relations, delivering compelling content, and driving events and branding in collaboration with campus leadership and the Advancement Team.

Develop and evaluate branding, marketing strategies and public-facing materials
Coordinate press activities, publications, and event promotions with senior leadership

Job Description

Responsibilities

Establish communications with faculty and staff regarding student, department, and event information.
Provide form(s) to faculty/staff requesting information and detailed description of upcoming events involving VASJ High School students and/or staff.
Meet with the calendar coordinator to avoid conflicts in usage of facilities.
Attend Administrative weekly meetings to keep the team advised and be advised of events or event changes.
Meet with individual administrators and department heads to receive information regarding their events and how events are best promoted and to whom.
Establish and maintain a communicative relationship with local media.
Provide to press, website, church bulletins (when applicable) information, photos, and video necessary to promote VASJ student(s), staff member(s), or event(s)
Create, implement, and evaluate Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School marketing and communications strategy in collaboration with the President.
Coordinate and set up press conferences. Have press releases and photos prepared for reporters and/or broadcasters. Meet with students (and parents if deemed necessary) and/or staff members prior to press interviews of conferences. Discuss the “dos & don’ts” in representing the best interests of individuals and VASJ.
Publications: - Advancement & Alumni: work with Advancement Director and Director of Alumni & Special Events to schedule and organize publications. - Athletic Program: Work with the Athletic Director to schedule photo sessions and organize necessary information for the athletic programs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, public relations or business.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Social Media management experience in
Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office; Adobe; Photoshop; InDesign; Canva; online giving platforms such as GiveSmart and MightyCause.
Email platform experience – Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge marketing platform knowledge a plus.
Design skills to create materials for school, alumni, advancement, admission needs – to include invitations, brochures, flyers, postcards, emails/eblasts, etc.
Creation of giveaway/marketing gifts following branding guidelines
Website design and management experience
Photography skills
Event experience – working with AV program needs; event scripting, video project management, etc.
