Job Summary

Own and manage the end-to-end RFP process for group insurance, from issuing and following up on RFPs to negotiating rates, assembling proposals, and maintaining carrier relationships and data integrity.

  • Lead request for proposals and bid solicitation from carriers and vendors.
  • Coordinate with client service teams to communicate rate designs and options.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant data and participate in marketing meetings.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Creates and sends requests for proposals (RFPs) to carriers, including follow-up as necessary;
  • Solicits bids for clients from carriers and vendors;
  • Monitors receipt of bids to ensure that the quotes are timely and are to specification;
  • Communicates negotiated rate and plan design alternatives to the respective client service team member;
  • Creates accurate and consistently formatted proposals;
  • Reviews peer proposals for accuracy;
  • Develops and maintains carrier relationships;
  • Keeps abreast of legislative, market and product changes;
  • Attends and actively participates in marketing meetings;
  • Flexibility to work long hours during busy season, if needed;

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One (1) or more years experience working for a group insurance carrier or benefits brokerage firm
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good problem solving, planning, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong multi-tasking skills with high level attention to detail
  • Ability to interface with executives – internal and external
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
