Hiring: YouTube Education / Documentary Scriptwriter

Manifest Media is looking for an experienced YouTube Scriptwriter for a creator-led education / documentary channel.

This role is specifically for someone who understands how to write for YouTube, not just articles, essays, blogs, or traditional documentary formats.

Role: YouTube Education / Documentary Scriptwriter

Type: Freelance / Contract

Volume: 4 scripts per month

Platform: YouTube

Rate: Open / negotiable based on experience

We’re looking for a writer who can take research-heavy topics and turn them into clear, engaging, story-driven YouTube scripts built for retention.

The ideal candidate understands how to write strong hooks, structure long-form videos, keep pacing tight, simplify complex information, and make educational content entertaining to watch.

Responsibilities include:

Researching assigned YouTube video topics

Writing full long-form YouTube scripts based on research

Creating strong hooks, intros, sections, transitions, and endings

Structuring scripts for audience retention and watch time

Turning complex topics into clear, engaging storytelling

Fact-checking information and sources

Collaborating on revisions and feedback

Delivering scripts on schedule each month

Ideal candidates have:

Previous YouTube scriptwriting experience

Experience writing education, documentary, science, history, business, explainer, or similar YouTube content

Strong research and fact-checking skills

A strong understanding of YouTube pacing, retention, and storytelling

A portfolio or relevant YouTube writing samples

This is not a role for someone who only writes essays or articles. We’re looking for someone who knows how to write scripts built for YouTube viewers.

The creator is open to paying the right rate for the right writer.
