Job Description
Responsibilities
- Write and edit engaging, on-brand copy for social media, email campaigns, website content, print materials and press releases
- Develop messaging and creative concepts for adoption promotions, fundraising campaigns and special events
- Contribute to long-form storytelling, including feature articles and campaign narratives
- Proofread and refine content to ensure clarity, accuracy and consistency in voice and tone
- Collaborate with designers and team members to bring campaigns to life
Requirements
- Student (18+) in communications, journalism, English, marketing or related field
- Strong writing portfolio demonstrating versatility in tone and format
- Excellent editing and proofreading skills with close attention to detail
- Ability to adapt voice for different audiences, platforms and campaign goals
- Familiarity with AP style (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and take initiative on projects
- Creative thinker who can both generate ideas and execute them effectively
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a diverse team
- Comfortable around dogs, cats and rabbits
- Genuine interest in Animal Friends’ mission
