Responsibilities

• Create high-quality, SEO-focused content across guides, articles, landing pages, FAQs, explainers and comparison pages.
• Produce clear, engaging and customer-focused content covering topics such as car finance, credit, affordability, APR, PCP, HP and refinancing.
• Develop content that is optimised for traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven search features, including Google AI Overviews.
• Write and optimise on-page SEO elements including title tags, meta descriptions, headings, internal links, image alt text and FAQs.
• Ensure all content is accurate, informative, easy to understand and aligned with our brand tone of voice.
• Work closely with our external SEO agency and internal teams to develop and deliver an effective content strategy.
• Create detailed content briefs using keyword research, search intent analysis and competitor insights.
• Identify content gaps and opportunities to improve organic search performance.
• Support the planning and management of the content calendar to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
• Use SEO tools and performance data to inform content decisions and identify opportunities for growth.

Requirements

• At least 4 years' experience writing SEO-focused content, either in-house or within an agency environment.
• A strong portfolio of published content demonstrating successful SEO performance.
• Excellent understanding of keyword research, search intent, on-page SEO and content optimisation.
• Proven ability to simplify complex or technical subjects into clear, engaging and accessible content.
• Experience using SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, Google Search Console and Google Analytics or similar platforms.
• Exceptional written English, with excellent editing, proofreading and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple content projects and consistently deliver high-quality work to deadlines.
• Experience working collaboratively with subject matter experts, legal teams or compliance reviewers.
• Strong understanding of Google's E-E-A-T principles and the importance of producing helpful, trustworthy content.
• A proactive and organised approach, with the confidence to take ownership of projects and work independently.

Preferred

• Experience creating content within UK financial services, particularly consumer credit, car finance, lending or personal finance.
• Knowledge of FCA financial promotion regulations, including CONC 3 and the Consumer Duty.
• Experience developing SEO content briefs and working with external agencies or freelance writers.
• Understanding of optimising content for AI-driven search, including Google AI Overviews and LLM-generated results.
• Experience using content management systems such as dotCMS or similar platforms.
• Basic HTML knowledge for content formatting, internal linking and structured data.
• Experience using generative AI tools responsibly to support research, drafting and content optimisation.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment where content performance is measured against business outcomes.
