About Scientists Inc
Scientists, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to science outreach. Science is not an abstract concept, most people will use scientific principles every day without realizing. The work that scientists do has a direct impact on our lives. We'd like to help more people understand how science is carried out and to develop an appreciation for its relevance. We want to foster that feeling of wonder and excitement that scientists have learning about the world around us.We develop programs that encourage researchers to begin conversations outside of their comfort zones. We work to include everyone in the conversation because creating dialogues with diverse audiences make for better science.Our event series, taste of science (www.tasteofscience.org), runs in multiple cities across the US with the largest being our annual science festival in April. Our podcast 2Scientists (www.2Scientists.org) is freely available and provides profiles on scientists from a wide variety of personal and professional backgrounds. We hope our events are a valuable way of informing the non-scientific audience of the important work taking place in their local communities by their friendly neighborhood scientists. It is also a way for scientists to connect with the people benefiting from their research; to remind them what the big picture is.
