The National Institute of Building Sciences is America’s independent, non-partisan, 501c(3) nonprofit organization, chartered by Congress through public law in 1974 to be the nation’s authoritative source of findings and recommendations that advance performance and innovation across our built environment, promote and protect the national interest, and increase positive outcomes for lives, livelihoods, and communities across the nation.
