Christian Health Association Of Nigeria

The Christian Health Association of Nigeria (CHAN) is a Faith-Based Non-Governmental Organization established in 1973 by the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), and the Northern Christian Medical Advisory Council (NCMAC). Its vision is to deliver comprehensive and responsive healthcare to all individuals, while its mission focuses on providing efficient services through the capacity building of member institutions and collaboration with partners to enhance health outcomes across Nigeria and beyond. CHAN comprises approximately 600 member institutions/health facilities dedicated to offering holistic healthcare services. These are primary, secondary and tertiary health facilities across the country. Its guiding principle, “Reaching the unreached,” underscores CHAN’s commitment to coordinating and strengthening the technical capabilities and systems of its member institutions. This approach enables the provision of quality, efficient, affordable, and holistic healthcare services to underserved communities, thereby promoting a fuller quality of life. Central to CHAN’s operations are health service delivery, training, research, and the implementation of various programs.
