Job Summary

Own and drive a national youth wellbeing campaign with policy influence, high-level external engagement, and a cross-functional team, balancing strategy, delivery and fundraising to shape public debate.

  • Lead strategy and delivery of the campaign, coordinating founders, trustees and advisers, plus fundraising across stakeholders.
  • Serve as public face and engage ministers, policymakers, educators and media to advance policy outcomes.
  • Build a national profile through influencing programmes, communications and events to drive lasting policy impact.

Job Description

  • Lead this high-profile, high-pressure Campaign for Youth Wellbeing
  • Be responsible for strategy, delivery, external engagement, communications, funding and the recruitment and leadership of a high-performing team
  • Engage directly with ministers, policymakers, employers, educators and the media
  • Build a national profile for the campaign and drive forward an ambitious programme of influencing, communications and events to achieve lasting policy impact
  • Act as the driving force and public face of the campaign
  • Work closely with the campaign’s founders, trustees and advisers
  • Leadership experience either in campaigns, public affairs, policy, media or a related environment, including promoting high-impact programmes or initiatives
  • Strong understanding of UK public policy and political processes, with the ability to advance influential approaches that contribute to policy or public debate outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience of advocacy to a range of audiences
  • Experience of working in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments, including meeting external deadlines or evolving priorities
  • Ability to manage resources and budgets, and to oversee fundraising and stakeholder engagement
  • Sound judgement and the ability to operate effectively in complex circumstances, balancing priorities, managing risk, resources and stakeholder expectations
  • Outstanding individual who combines strategic leadership, credibility and drive
  • Motivated by a strong commitment to improving the wellbeing of children and young people
  • Experience combining leadership, credibility and drive in strategic contexts
