Job Description

Responsibilities

Assist the Marketing and Communications Specialist with updating and maintaining the department website.
Create and edit photos, graphics, and other visual materials using software such as Adobe Photoshop and Canva.
Assist with developing and publishing content for departmental social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
Support departmental communications efforts, including drafting announcements, and promotional content.
Assist with planning and supporting departmental events, seminars, meetings, and outreach activities.
Perform data entry, filing, document preparation, and other general office tasks.

Requirements

Must maintain a 2.5-grade point average.
Able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
Must receive or be eligible to receive Federal Work Study
Required Qualifications:

Preferred

Demonstrated interest in communications, marketing, public relations and scientific research.
Experience with, or willingness to learn, website maintenance using a content management system (CMS).
Basic graphic design and photo-editing experience.
Experience managing or creating content for social media platforms.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Previous office, administrative, customer service, or communications experience preferred.
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team environment.
Professionalism, reliability, and a positive customer-service-oriented attitude.
