Job Description
Own West Virginia public information strategy and public engagement for the agency by shaping messaging, content approvals, and analytics-driven improvements across channels.
- Establish agency-wide messaging priorities and communication strategies.
- Advise executive leadership on communication approaches that strengthen public engagement and support WVDNR's mission.
- Develop annual outreach and communication plans, including goals, timelines, and performance benchmarks.
- Approve all content distributed across media platforms, including digital, print, broadcast, and social media.
- Authorize press releases, public statements, talking points, and event-related communications.
- Ensure messaging is accurate, consistent, and aligned with agency priorities.
- Direct digital communication strategies, including website content, social media engagement, and online campaigns.
- Use analytics to set performance goals, evaluate communication effectiveness, and guide improvements.
- Oversee development of digital tools, templates, and communication resources.
- Select, manage, and evaluate communication-related vendors and service providers.
