Job Summary
Own NYPL video from concept to delivery, shaping formats around library initiatives and social trends while keeping a tight calendar and cross-team alignment.
- End-to-end production ownership: concepting, scripting, filming, editing, captions, and basic motion graphics.
- Format and platform strategy: translate initiatives and events into video formats for YouTube, Vimeo, and social, staying current with short-form trends.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end video production for NYPL, including concepting, scripting, filming, editing, captioning, and basic motion graphics
- Develop video ideas and formats based on NYPL initiatives, exhibitions, programs, cultural moments, and social media trends
- Film video using a variety of equipment, including phone, DSLR, and/or mirrorless cameras, gimbals, microphones, lights, and other associated tools
- Edit video and create basic motion graphics and captions using Adobe Premiere and After Effects
- Manage the video production calendar, tracking deadlines, deliverables, priorities, and cross-departmental needs
- Manage NYPL’s YouTube and Vimeo accounts
- Collaborate with teams across the Library and manage occasional external vendors, agencies, and freelancers to develop cohesive, engaging video content that supports NYPL’s broader digital presence and large-scale multimedia needs
- Performs other related duties as needed
