Job Summary
Own media relations and content strategy to shape CU Direct’s public image and drive thought leadership across vertical markets.
- Media relations ownership: build high level print, broadcast, and online placements and maintain strong media ties.
- Content strategy alignment: collaborate with marketing to produce blogs, case studies, white papers, editorials, and repurpose for owned channels.
- Measurement and governance: monitor PR performance, report to management, and oversee outsourced content writers and analytics.
Job Description
- Develop a media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast, and online media
- Plan and execute public relations initiatives that builds and nurtures a favorable public image for CU Direct within multiple vertical markets
- Build, manage, and maintain media relationships to represent CU Direct and gain positive media exposure
- Create press releases and other media-related correspondence
- Maintain PR/News pages on corporate and brand websites
- Identify and train appropriate staff for media interviews
- Monitor and report performance data for all PR activities
- Manage annual public relations budget in alignment with marketing budget
- Provide regularly scheduled reporting and monthly presentations to management
- Work closely with marketing team to develop a content strategy that aligns with marketing goals and drives high engagement.
- Plan and execute content initiatives including blog articles, case studies, white papers, editorials, and other forms of owned media that positions CU Direct as a thought-leader in multiple vertical markets.
- Develop and manage a content calendar to ensure regular content throughout the year.
- Keep up to date with industry best practice and monitor content activities of competitor websites.
- Track web analytics to ascertain engagement levels and evaluate the impact of content to continuously improve engagement strategy.
- Manage and nurture outsource content writers to create impactful and accurate content across multiple channels
- Work with digital marketing writer to monitor social media and online conversations, and respond with appropriate messaging.
- Repurpose content for social media and blog.
- Work closely with marketing team to develop blog strategy that aligns with digital marketing goals (SEO, SEM)
