Job Summary

The Athletics Communications Assistant will own primary communications for assigned varsity programs, promoting student-athletes, coaches and teams across social media, digital media, and media relationships, while collaborating with Marketing, Broadcast/Multimedia, and Ticketing to grow the Princeton Athletics brand.

  • Lead and coordinate social media and media outreach for assigned programs.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Broadcast/Multimedia, and Ticketing to enhance the department and brand.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Athletics Communications Assistant will serve as primary communications contact for assigned varsity programs at Princeton University. In the role, the assistant will promote and publicize student-athletes, coaches and teams via social media, digital media and interpersonal relationships with local and national media.
  • In addition, the Athletics Communications Assistant will work alongside the other members of the Athletic Communications department to design and implement department-wide communications and social media strategies. They will also work collaboratively with other areas throughout the department, including the other members of the External Relations team - Marketing, Broadcast/Multimedia, and Ticketing - to enhance and grow the Princeton Athletics brand.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor\'s Degree is required and 1-2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience managing social media accounts for brands/teams preferred.
  • Time management skills are essential as the candidate will be asked to multitask on a daily basis.
  • Compliance with all Ivy league/NCAA rules and regulations required.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as well as travel with teams as required.
  • Strong familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere - preferred.
