Job Description

Responsibilities

  • This is advanced professional work responsible for developing and executing innovative marketing and communications strategies that promote the St. Pete Pier as one of Florida's premier waterfront destinations.
  • This position serves as the primary storyteller for the Pier, creating compelling content that inspires residents and visitors to experience its events, restaurants, attractions, public art, waterfront amenities and unique experiences.
  • Work involves the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social media, web, email, print and earned media channels; developing engaging written, graphic, photo and video content; managing and growing the Pier's social media presence; designing promotional materials; producing email newsletters; maintaining website content; monitoring campaign performance; and identifying creative opportunities to increase awareness and engagement.
  • This position works closely with Pier tenants, City departments, tourism partners, event organizers, community organizations and the City's Public Information Officer to coordinate communications, respond to media inquiries, support special events and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.

Requirements

  • Have a valid Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, digital media, advertising, or a related field.
  • Possess and continue to maintain a valid Driver License.
  • Have professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, digital marketing, tourism marketing, destination marketing, or a related field.
  • Have experience developing and executing integrated marketing, and communications campaigns.
  • Have experience creating engaging social media content, including photography, video, graphics, and written content.
  • Have experience managing social media platforms, scheduling content, monitoring engagement, and analyzing performance metrics.
  • Have experience designing professional marketing materials for digital and print platforms.
  • Have experience writing and editing content for multiple audiences, including websites, newsletters, social media, news releases, and promotional materials.
  • Have excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Have experience Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and Adobe Express.
  • Have experience with Canva Pro or comparable graphic design platforms.
  • Have experience in professional photography and smartphone photography including short-form video production and editing for social media.
  • Have experience in website content management systems and social media analytics tools including Google Analytics.
  • Have experience in event marketing, destination marketing, tourism, hospitality, parks and recreation or municipal communications.
