Job Description
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary PR lead for assigned client accounts
- Develop and pitch creative, strategic story ideas to local, national, and trade media
- Write and edit press releases, bylines, pitches, award submissions, and other copy
- Build and maintain strong media relationships
- Coordinate interviews, TV segments, and in-studio appearances
- Attend client meetings, events, grand openings, and milestones
- Track coverage and compile monthly reports using media monitoring tools
- Research industry trends, competitors, and timely news angles
- Prepare client summaries and lead executive-level discussions
- Represent local and national brands with professionalism and confidence
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional PR experience , agency background strongly preferred
- Residence in the Phoenix metro area (local candidates only)
- Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or related field
- Strong command of AP-style writing and editing
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline pressure
- Excellent presentation, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, social platforms, and PR tools
- Experience with Muck Rack, Smartsheet, Qwoted, and Critical Mention preferred
