Job Summary

You will own the strategic athletic communications program, directing media relations, content creation, and statistics reporting across internal and external audiences and coordinating with coaches and administrators.

Lead strategic communication initiatives for athletics
Oversee media relations, publicity, and storytelling for student-athletes

Job Description

Responsibilities

Assists in development of all strategic communication initiatives
Identifies and monitors all media relations, publicity, and player promotion requirements
Edits and distributes athletic communication materials for internal and external audiences
Manages communication of athletic statistics and record keeping

Requirements

Minimum of two years of experience in sports marketing, communications, or a related field at the collegiate or professional level.
Bachelor’s degree required

Preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to creatively tell stories about student-athletes, coaches and teams using various communications methods including social media, graphic design, video and written content
Experience working with local and national media
Strong computer background with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe software
Experience with photography and basic photo editing
Ability to work with students, coaches and administrators in a broad range of situations
Willingness and ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends
Knowledge of NCAA rules and guidelines and experience working in an atmosphere of NCAA compliance
Ability to develop and implement innovative approaches and solutions
Work well independently and in teams
