Job Description

Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day organization and execution of assigned client accounts
Execute proactive and reactive media relations, including developing story angles, drafting pitches, pitching media and following up on opportunities
Monitor daily media lead requests and identify relevant opportunities for clients
Liaise directly with journalists, editors and influencers on behalf of clients
Draft and edit press materials including pitches, media alerts, press releases, bios, fact sheets, backgrounders and media appointments
Support ongoing brainstorming and trendspotting to identify timely and creative opportunities for clients
Assist with the planning and fulfillment of press trips, desksides, media appointments and other media experiences
Participate in client meetings and conference calls, including preparation, contribution, note-taking and follow-up
Maintain regular day-to-day client communication via email and phone under the direction of senior account leads
Support influencer relations and digital initiatives as needed

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred
1–3 years of public relations experience, preferably within travel, hospitality, lifestyle, food and/or wellness
Strong media relations experience with demonstrated ability to proactively and reactively pitch and secure meaningful coverage
Existing media contacts and ability to continually identify and build relationships with new journalists, editors and influencers
Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to grammar, spelling and punctuation
Strong knowledge of the travel, lifestyle, food and wellness media and influencer landscapes
Social media and influencer relations experience
Creative ideation, brainstorming and trendspotting skills
Strong communication, organization and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced agency environment
