Job Summary
Own the external and internal comms program with executive counsel and crisis readiness, while coordinating cross‑functional work with PR, digital, HR, and marketing to protect GEHA’s reputation and enable business goals.
- Public relations, digital communications, HR and BU counsel, and promotion of GEHA’s community investment strategy.
- Establish quality-content standards and scalable processes for consistent messaging to internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate with Communications, Marketing, and HR to align channels and events with business priorities.
Job Description
- Responsible for the execution of external and internal communications programs and projects including public relations, digital communications, HR and business unit communications counsel, and promotion of GEHA’s community investment strategy
- Establish processes and standards for execution and set the bar for quality content that represents GEHA well to internal and external audiences
- Collaborate with Communications team and other support functions like Marketing and HR
- Provide counsel to C-suite executives on communications best practices
- Manage communication channels (web, intranet, social media) and related duties as assigned
- Participate in relevant communications/media events and conferences as assigned
- Assist with implementation of crisis communications and issues management plans as needed, including management of issue-based position statements as directed by executive management
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field required
- 8+ years' experience in corporate communication department, PR firm environment, or related field required
- Must have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office
- A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30x5 (30mbps download x 5mbps upload) is required
- Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms
- Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role
- A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
- Must be comfortable providing strategic counsel to executives and business partners and managing multiple high-priority projects
- Preferred experience in healthcare communications environment
