Job Description
Responsibilities
- Work with Teacher Education staff to research, design, develop, and implement social media plan;
- Develop content for Instagram and Facebook (@HistoryEdMNHS);
- Research online tools, social media strategies, and make recommendations for future initiatives;
- Attend social media meetings with supervisor and strategic communications as appropriate;
- Develop and design monthly teacher email newsletters;
- Increasing Instagram and Facebook engagement;
- Conducting research to make recommendations for growing engagement with the teacher audience;
- Suggest, develop, and oversee other projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student, or have graduated within the past 12 months at the time of application.
- Ideal candidates might be currently pursuing, or a graduate with a degree in the following areas: Education, History, Media Studies, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
- Undergraduate junior or senior able to work well independently and in a team setting.
- Experience planning, developing, and implementing projects, conducting research, video creation and building good working relationships with a diverse pool of people is required.
- Student must be self-motivated, comfortable using social-media technologies, possess excellent written communication skills, and be able to think creatively.
- Experience with Facebook, Instagram, and/or other social media outlets required.
- Experience with education and/or history is preferred.
- Experience with engaging students in a variety of contexts is a plus.
